Itching for a Cure Fundraiser

We need your help. Together we can succeed in this challenge!

THE CHALLENGE: Each year, we hold an Itching for a Cure/ Road to Research fundraiser to raise funds to support important PSC research to find new treatments, the causes and a cure for PSC. Our annual virtual road always starts in the city where we held our last annual patient conference and ends in the city where we’ll be holding our next conference. This year, we’ll be traveling on the road from Sacramento, California to our destination Rochester, Minnesota. Help us reach our goal in 2012!

HOW TO HELP: We are already traveling on the virtual Road to Research. We have a long road to travel from Sacramento to Rochester, so please help us raise funds to support PSC research. If you’d like to give an informational handout to your potential donors, click here for a two-sided handout that you can copy. Consider donating what you can, contacting family, friends or colleagues to donate, or holding your own fundraiser.  If you’d like to do a letter writing campaign, please send us an email at contactus@pscpartners.org. We have a great fundraising tool kit available to help you through every step of the way.

THE RESEARCH:

Please help the Scientific/Medical Advisory Committee fund the best and brightest investigators to solve the puzzle of PSC (www.pscpartners.org/grants).  Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us reach our goal.

Please:

1. Earmark your donation for the Itching for a Cure/Road to Research fundraiser.
2. If your donation is in honor or in memory of someone with PSC, include the honoree’s name, address, and email address, so that we can send them an acknowledgement of your contribution.
3. Include your email address.

To get started, contact us at fundraising@pscpartners.org to request a form to list all your donors and their donations, to request a sample letter to send to friends and family, or to ask for suggestions for creative ways to raise money for the Road to Research. 

Help us make a difference in the lives and future of all PSCers. Every penny gathered and every dollar collected can get us closer to our destination. You will be helping us increase the scope of our research grants program and eventually find that elusive cure.

As of December 30, we have received a total of $31,500 for the 2012 Road to Research.

Create Your Own Fundraiser

We welcome suggestions from supporters who would like to create their own fundraiser for PSC Partners Seeking a Cure. If you have a fundraising idea or simply need more information, please review our Guidelines for Independent Fundraising for assistance in creating your own event or letter writing campaign. Save the Day Fundraisers

PSC Partners Save the Day is taking place NOW!

International FUNdraising Weekends: October 7-9 and October 14-16, 2011

We are holding two weekends this year to accommodate all our terrific fundraisers!

Our first Save the Day fundraising event was so successful that we’ve decided to make it our annual fall fundraiser and it’s been growing ever since. No matter where in the world you live, you can help to make a real difference in the lives of PSCers around the globe. Last year we earned an amazing $79,000 + thanks to all of you and your creativity and determination. That’s $79,000+ dedicated to making all of our lives better through funding research grants and PSC education and awareness programs. Save the Day puts us in the driver’s seat and gives us a chance to raise funds to end PSC once and for all. Together, this is the opportunity for all PSCers and their friends, families and communities nationally and internationally to hold a local fundraiser of their choice and help each other move ever closer to the day when “incurable” and “untreatable” are no longer found in the same sentence as PSC.

You can help save a life. It’s not as hard as you would think and, believe it or not, it can actually be fun! So for yourselves and your loved ones, please consider joining us for Save the Day.

How to help:

Come up with a fundraising idea and submit it to fundraising@pscpartners.org. To submit, simply review our fundraising guidelines and complete your very own short Project Proposal Form. Receive approval of your personal fundraising proposal from PSC Partners and then you’re set to start making your fundraiser into a reality.

The details:

Host your fundraiser on one of our special weekends (October 7-9 or October 14-16, 2011) or a date during the Fall of 2011 that is conducive to the success of your event so that you know, no matter where in the world you are, that other PSCers are out there fighting this fight with you, for you and for those we love.

Really sleepy but determined to fundraise? Might we suggest Napping for a Cure? Pledge a certain amount for each nap you take or, better yet, get sponsors. What could be better than being paid to nap and having those funds go towards PSC research, education and awareness?

Too tired to hold a fundraiser but still want to help? You can make a tax-deductible donation in any amount through our secure website or mail a check to PSC Partners Seeking a Cure, 5237 South Kenton Way, Englewood, CO 80111. Please include your e-mail on the check so we can send you a receipt and let us know it’s for Save the Day!

Helpful Tools for FUNdraising

PSC Partners believes that awareness and information are power and to that end, we’ve created two documents that can help you raise funds and let people know why their support is paramount in the quest for better treatments and a cure for PSC.

PSC Partners Fundraising Flyer: This free handout is available for download on our website at: pscpartners.org/brochures. It contains information on PSC Partners, some of the daily struggles and symptoms PSCers might face, and how people can help make a difference in the fight for better treatments and a cure.

PSC Partners Donor Card: This free download is available by clicking here. These cards are perfect to insert in mailers, pass out at fundraisers, post up in your office or religious social halls or anywhere else you might find people who want to know how they can help to make a real difference in the lives of PSCers everywhere. This card gives a potential donor all the information they need to send in that life-changing donation today so it can get into the hands of those scientists researching a cure tomorrow.

Goodsearch Fundraiser

If you’d like a very simple way to help, try Goodsearch. This is a free online search and shop engine (think Google) which lets us click our way towards a cure every single day. With no cost to the user, log onto www.goodsearch.com and choose PSC Partners Seeking a Cure, Englewood, CO as your charity and save it (if your computer doesn’t automatically do so.) From that point on, every search that you make through Goodsearch on any topic will generate money for PSC Partners and there’s no limit on what we can earn.

Kroger Community Rewards Program – Michigan only

If you live in Michigan and do your grocery shopping at Kroger, please take a minute to join our Kroger Community Rewards Program. Register with us to get your Kroger Plus Card, and then a percentage of every purchase that you make from now on at Kroger will be donated to PSC Partners Seeking a Cure. To get started, write to Debbie T at designingdebbiet@yahoo.com, and she will send you the required bar code. Just take this to your local Kroger store, and they will issue your Kroger Plus Card.
